{Playing with Hipstamatic}

1.25.2010

{My back yard}

I bought the Hipstamatic app (along with several listed in an winter issue of Layers Magazine) back in December. I forgot about it until this past weekend when a friend of mine was playing with the app and it tweaked my curiosity more, so a few test shots have commenced.

For an iphone app, it rocks. It looks very similar to theHolga camera I used to play with when I still shot film. Not the most exciting content I’ve chosen to capture, but fun to play with, if you like retro film affects.

Film stock affects with the appropiate lens make it feel and look pretty damn cool.

2. Please don’t mess up my google street view: Google is squelching this report now, but if those annoying pop up ads strart showing up on my street view I’m going back to using a printed map and compass.

3. Did they learn nothing from Austin Powers? I guess not, so there is a fembot on the market now. This is going to end horribly bad, in the near future.

4. Taking a gander at AKA Corleone’s posters-these are DYN-O-MITE.

5. A redesign of the airline boarding pass: Tyler Thompson takes this on and makes me think-hell why didn’t I think of that? Pretty clever.
